鄂薯2号是湖北省农科院粮食作物研究所以85-2458/徐289为材料育成的加工型甘薯品种,1996年3月通过湖北省农作物品种审定委员会审定.鄂薯2号生育天数120d,生长势强.顶叶浅绿色,叶形浅复缺刻,叶色绿,叶脉紫色,茎绿间紫色,主茎长139.5cm,中蔓型,葡匐生长,基部分枝6～8个,单株结薯数3.9个,薯块纺锤形,薯皮红色,薯肉淡黄
