精子的前向运动主要利用三磷酸腺苷(ATP)当精子移动至附睾运动减慢时ATP含量下降,这一过程是精子在附睾中成熟的重要部份。α-糖甙酶由附睾上皮分泌,并被认为是附睾功能良好和开放的一种标志,附睾远端上皮细胞的脱落又称脱离的纤毛束(DCTs)过去曾在一些不育病人中报告过,同时也认为这些DCTs可能来自附睾。故对有DCTs病人和对照组之间比较精子ATP含量和精液中α-糖甙酶的活性来评价附睾功
