去年五月上旬呼市地区连续四天(七—十日)出现霜冻,地面温度达一2.7°C——7.3℃,玉米幼苗遭到冻害。前年霜冻时间是五月十四——十七日,比去前年早7~8天。去年地面最低温度达-10℃,比前年高2.7℃,所以去年的霜冻,对大秋作物的为害程度不如前年严重。然而在这次霜冻中,玉米比其它作物受害较重。据在呼市郊区桃花公社贾家营大队田间调查结果,幼苗受冻率达16.8%。为此,对玉米幼苗的受冻规律和受冻机制进行了调查研究,从形态学上、解剖学上、生理学上加以分析比较,以期了解其实际受害程度。
