With the successful launch of the “Mars Climate Orbital Detector,” NASA’s move to “advance” Mars continues. The new round of Mars exploration activity is called “Mars 98.” In addition to the Mars Climate Orbiter, there are the “Mars Polar Lands” and the “Deep Space 2” mini-detectors launched on January 4, 1999, which will be within 160 km of the Antarctic Mars 3 locations to investigate. The main mission of Mars 98 is to look for signs of torrential floods that have taken place in ancient times on Mars and to reveal the history of millions of years of Mars through geological investigations. This article focuses on Mars Polar Lander.
