In a certain sense, children are spontaneous philosophers. Of course they do not know what philosophy is, but many of the issues active in their little brains are truly philosophical. I believe that, on average, children’s interest in philosophical issues far outweighs that of most adults. However, in most people, the spontaneous philosophical interest that once existed seems to have disappeared altogether as the age and experience increase.
