This article reports the effect of the amount of indomethacin polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) gel prepared by repeated freezing-thawing methods on the gel strength and drug release by freezing-thawing and uses a glutaraldehyde solution to crosslink the gel as a drug Controlled release test. The results show that the degree of polymerization of PVA affects the physical strength of frozen gel. The greater the polymerization degree of PVA (500,1000,1700,2400), the greater the gel strength, the smaller the penetration value. Penetration and with the freeze-thaw times increase decreases, 3 to 4 times or more, the penetration value is almost unchanged. PVA with a degree of polymerization of> 1000 has sufficient physical strength as a drug delivery base. The PVA concentration also has an effect on the gel strength. When the PVA concentration of 1000 is higher than 5%, the penetration decreases with the increase of the number of repetitions, and the gel strength increases.
