要想论证休谟拥有自己的知识论,我们不仅要对其知识论地位做出规范性的和自然主义的解释,还要能够同时照顾到休谟哲学中的自然主义和怀疑主义两个层面。这需要为其知识论地位找到一个合适的模型,而麦克道尔的延留知识理论正是一个很好的起点。麦克道尔与休谟的哲学差别很大,但在知识论问题上都选择了使用缺省条件和以信念的责任为媒介的理由空间来刻画知识论地位的策略。这种策略机敏地把握住了自然和理性在人类的认知过程中辩证的和规范性的作用。
To demonstrate Hume’s own epistemology, we must not only make a normative and naturalistic explanation of his epistemological status, but also take care of both naturalism and skepticism in Hume’s philosophy at the same time. This needs to find a suitable model for its epistemological status, and McDowell’s theory of delaying knowledge is a good starting point. McDowell and Hume differ greatly in their philosophies, but on the epistemological issues, they chose the tactics of using the default conditions and the space of reasoning mediated by the responsibility of faith as an illustration of the status of epistemology. This strategy cleverly grasps the dialectical and normative role of nature and reason in human cognitive processes.
