对等是翻译研究领域一个重要的概念,也是很多学者定义、评价翻译的关键词。然而,在翻译研究逐步多元化的今天,这个术语正在渐渐地失去往日的意义。本文尝试从历史发展的角度开始,追述“翻译对等”自上世纪中期被应用到翻译研究领域以来的不同阶段的变化,找出这些不同阶段对等的内涵,并对这些进行对比描述和分析,提出在应用“翻译对等”概念时所要注意的问题。
Peer-to-peer is an important concept in the field of translation studies. It is also the key word for many scholars to define and evaluate translation. However, as translation studies progressively diversify today, the term is gradually losing its historical significance. This paper attempts to start from the perspective of historical development and trace the changes in different stages since “translation equivalence ” has been applied to the field of translation studies in the middle of the last century, to find out the connotation of these different stages of equivalence and to compare these descriptions And analyze the issues that should be noticed when applying the concept of “translation equivalence”.
