黄慎(1687~1770),初名黄盛,字公懋、躬懋,别号如松。康熙六十年(1721年)更名黄慎,雍正四年(1726年)改字恭寿,取别号瘿瓢山人,简称瘿瓢、瘿瓢子。另有“东海布衣”“苍玉洞人”“糊涂居士”“放亭”“砚耕”“蓏圃”“蓏圃山人”等别号(见丘幼宣《黄慎的名、字与别号演变考》)。黄慎出生于福建宁化。因父丧家贫,而奉母命,赴建宁拜师学画,专习画像技艺。自康熙五十八年辗转福建、江西、广东等多地,卖画为生,以润笔赡养
