《加伏特》是一种4拍子中速的法国古老舞曲,通常都在小节的第三拍开始,在巴洛克时期常在一些组曲中出现,其中尤以巴赫《E大调组曲》中的《加伏特舞曲》最为著名。18世纪比利时作曲家戈塞克的《加伏特舞曲》更为精彩小巧、光彩诱人。从琴童到大师,几乎无人不知,无人不晓,无人不上手。《加伏特》这种舞曲体裁,在19世纪以后,已经很少再有作曲家采用。但在音乐个性极强的作曲家普罗科菲耶夫的《古典交响曲》和勋伯格的《弦乐组曲》等作品中,却仍然作为单乐章出现,足见其曲式体裁在音乐创作的传承中仍具有一定的影响。
