辽代皇家寺院——奉国寺(俗称七佛寺、大佛寺),坐落在辽宁省锦州市义县县城内,位于以古城十字架鼓楼为中心东北西南走向的东北隅。1961年被国务院公布为第一批全国重点文物保护单位,2005年由辽宁省人民政府提名,列入申报中国世界文化遗产预备名录。一、建造年代奉国寺始建年代。一说:“州之东北维寺日咸熙,后更奉国,盖其始也,开泰几年处士焦希赟创其基。”此为元大德七年(1303)《义州重修大奉国寺碑》记载。二说,“清朝光绪八年(1882),维修大雄殿时有八门尺从东南角梁架上坠落,上书‘辽开泰九
