This article gives a historical overview of modern Russian philosophy. The article describes the major philosophical trends (cosmology, religious philosophy, and early Marxism) of the pre-revolutionary Russian “Silver Age” and outlines the continuity with Marxist philosophy and pre-Marxist philosophy. The thesis studies the inner evolution and organization of the official philosophy of the Soviet Union, and describes the main features of the philosophical renaissance in the Soviet Union in the second half of the 20th century. The final essay describes the main trends, authors, and publications of today’s Russian philosophy.
