在东北林业大学的凉水林场经过3a(1986年—1988年)的生态因子观测、红松幼树生长量调查及红松幼树的模拟遮光试验,表明林下光照条件与红松幼树生长的关系极为密切。生长在林下的红松幼树对光照的要求比其它任何生态因子都具有更大的依赖性。在其它环境条件完全一致的情况下,人为降低光照使红松幼树生长骤然减慢。光照条件对红松幼树生长的影响不仅在于生长季,也在于非生长季,且后者比前者的影响效果更显著。红松幼树的生长随年龄的增大其需光量逐渐增强,因此,在经营红松人工林及杨、桦等次生林时,应遵从红松这一生物学特性,及时抚育,逐渐加大透光疏伐的强度,以满足红松幼树生长的需要。
