SIS (styrene-isoprene-styrene blockcopolymer) can be used to produceadhesives, coatings and plasticmodifiers. The production capacity ofSIS in the world is around 350 thousandt/a today and the output is around 300thousand tons, accounting for 15% -20% of the total output of styrene ther-moplastic elastomers.
