种瓜成熟时,要及时采收。收回的种瓜,需放阴凉处后熟7～10天。后熟期间要避免发生霉烂。如发霉,应尽早剖瓜取种。种瓜采种时,一般要剖瓜取瓤,放入瓷、瓦、搪瓷容器内,自然发酵1～2天。待种膜破裂后进行机械搅拌,或手工揉搓,使瓤、种膜、种子完全分离。最后用清水冲漂干净。
