驼峰设计时,在峰顶道岔侧股范围内,需设置什么样的平过道,更能保证提钩人员的作业安全和提高作业效率,是不容忽视的问题。目前在铁路编组站中,驼峰顶跨道岔侧股铺设的平过道,一般都采用钢筋混凝土结构的铺面。实践说明,这种铺面,在严寒冰冻季节,板面极易结成一层薄冰,因而使提钩人员行走时脚下打滑,很不安全;另外由于钢筋混凝土透水性差,铺板下的岔枕极易腐烂;而且笨重,搬动不便,造成养护维修困难等。可见缺点较多,必须加以改善。
