Objective To study the changes of regulatory T cells (Tr1 and Th2 cells) in asthmatic patients under extreme climate conditions. Methods Thirty patients with mild-to-moderate asthma and healthy subjects from 2009 to 2010 in Nanchang were enrolled in this study. Th1 and Th2 were detected in peripheral blood of all subjects at baseline, acute attack point, sudden drop in temperature, and extremely cold climate Cell ratio and serum INF-γI, L-4 levels. Results The proportion of Tr1 and Th2 cells and the levels of INF-γI and L-4 in the healthy control group showed no significant change at 4 observation points. The percentage of Tr1 cells in the asthma group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). The proportion of Th2 cells and serum IL-4 level were significantly higher than those at baseline (P <0.05). Conclusion The extreme climate change may lead to the change of immune function in asthma patients.
