The construction of Hippophae rhamnoides forest in the sandstone area can significantly alleviate the problem of poor water storage capacity and serious soil erosion, but the mechanism is still unclear. The effects of artificial seabuckthorn planting on the physical properties of soil in the 砒 sandstone region were studied by observing the bulk density, porosity and water holding capacity of soils under 2 ~ 8-year-old seabuckthorn forests. The results showed that: Hippophae rhamnoides plantation significantly reduced soil bulk density, increased the amount of soil pores and soil water holding capacity, and this effect increased with age, but decreased with the increase of soil depth, mainly in 0 ~ 10cm soil Floor. Therefore, the establishment of Hippophae rhamnoides plantations in the sandstone area can improve the physical condition of soil moisture, which may be due to the effects of litter and roots.
