When the high-speed vehicle returns to the atmosphere, a high-temperature plasma sheath is formed on the surface of the high-speed vehicle, which may cause communication interruption between the aircraft and the ground within a certain flight altitude, that is, the problem of “re-entry communication interruption”. At present, there are many means of reducing disruption abroad, however, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, the possibility of applying an electric field to reduce the electron density in the boundary layer of the sheath is discussed theoretically as a simple physical means to overcome the interruption of reentry communication.
