1985年,以管华诗为主的课题组研制成功了中国第一个防治心脑血管疾病的海洋药物藻酸双醋钠和第二代产品甘糖酯,从而把肝素的研究推向一个新阶段。在学校搞科研条件艰苦,困难重重。但管华诗都坚持下来了。他说:“只要认为科学上是对的,就坚持搞下去。”他创办了中国唯一的海洋药物化学专业,建起了中国第一个海洋生物技米制品生产基地。他待青年研究员及学生既是严师,又是慈父,与他们构成了一个团结向上、频出成果的群体。
