Currently, learner autonomy becomes an influential concept in teaching and an important goal of the present view of CALL. The present paper focuses on a research of an English teaching program in an experimental class. Basically, in the experiment, computer was used in language learning, and some Internet-based activities were carried out both in and after class. Through the comparison of the experimental class and control class, the statistic findings and the interview show that computer is a beneficial tool for assisting language learning and teaching. The implementation of computer-based activities had helped promote students’ language learner autonomy.
