被唐代诗人王勃誉为“物华天宝”、“人杰地灵”的江西,在地名上的一个特点就是以“八景”命名的地名很多。据史志统计,江西的“八景”达32处、景名256个之多,分布于全省各地的风景名胜区。在旅游事业发展的今天,如此众多的“八景”名胜,不仅是一份珍贵的文化遗产,也是一笔有待开发利用的物质财富。然而,众多的“八景”名胜随着历史沧桑而变迁,不仅长期遭人冷遇,甚至在省内外还很少为人所系统地了解。为此,我们把江西“八景”的名称、分布、特色及其成因探讨如下: Wang Bo, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, praised Jiangxi as “Wuhua Tianbao” and “outstanding people”.
