当前世界各国连铸生产技术发展迅速,用连铸坯生产板材的比率也不断增加。为了确保产品质量,各国随之制定了与产品相适应的连铸坯质量检验标准。就硫印而言,日本已将其列为连铸坯检验的重要项目之一。武钢于1985年开始应用硫印技术诊断连铸机的运行状况,以提高连铸钢板坯质量。在此基础上同时开始起草本标准。标准起草先后经过4次讨论、初审,于1989年11月12日通过审定。由武钢起草的中华人民共和国国家标准
