户外广告(out Door)媒体,简称OD,主要指在城市的交通要道两边、主要建筑物的楼顶或商业区的门前、路边等户外场地设置的发布广告信息的媒介,主要形式包括招贴、海报、路牌、霓虹灯、电子屏幕、旗帜、灯箱、气球、飞艇、车厢、大型充气模型等。它的主要优点是面积大、色彩鲜艳、主题鲜明、设计新颖,具有形象生动、简单明快等特点。广告形象突出,容易吸引行人的注意力,并且容易记忆。此外,户外广告多是不经意间给受众以视觉刺激,不具有强迫性,信息容易被认知和接收,并且户外广告一般发布的期限较长,对于区域性受众能造成印象的累积效果。
