【Objective】 To compare Cite Score (CS) and influence factor (IF) in different academic journals and to analyze the similarities and differences between CS and IF in academic journals evaluation. 【Methods】 The Journal of Citation Reports (JCR) was selected to cite 8 different subjects with different half-lives and all-round statistical analysis of CS and IF in these 8 academic journals. The IF is derived from CorelWay’s 2015 JCR, released in June 2016, and is based on the 2015 Journal Metrics published by the Elsevier Publishing Group in December 2016. [Results] Among the 380 journals selected from 8 disciplines, the correlation coefficient between CS and IF was 0.922 and the P was 0.000.8. Among the eight disciplines, most of them were journals whose CS was greater than IF. For statistics and probability theory, communication science and political science And history and other cited half-life of the longer subjects, the difference was statistically significant. The IF of most multidisciplinary and comprehensive medical journals is larger than that of CS, but the correlation coefficient between the two still reaches 0.871. 【Conclusion】 CS and IF have a high degree of consistency in the periodical impact assessment. CS has shown some advantages for the evaluation of the subject journals with longer half-life.
