大面积试验观测表明,梯田地堰单栽或间种楸树、香椿、山楂、樱桃、桃、黄花等经济植物,前五年植物间的种内、种间竞争不强,故不论开发层次、开发模式如何,其生长量或产量均无明显差异。但从经济效益和生态效益考虑,高低三层间种的好于二层的,二层的又好于一层的,梯田地堰开发以多物种间作的立体复合型为好。地堰开发会造成边行农作物不同程度的减产,但这种负效益远不及地堰开发的效益。为了优质高效地进行地堰立体开发,在物种选择上,应本着时空互补的原则,根据其生物学特性、经济价值及选用的开发模式全面考虑。
