柴德赓在清代学术史研究领域贡献卓著。在评论乾嘉考史三大家王鸣盛、钱大昕、赵翼时,柴德赓既充分肯定其纪传体史书研究的成绩,也论其不足,并着重比较了王鸣盛与钱大昕治学途径与学术功力之不同,反映出柴德赓实事求是、视野开阔的学术风格。章学诚治学独树一帜,柴德赓对此作了深刻总结,同时也指出其思想上的局限,这种评价客观而全面。柴德赓对其他清代学者也有深入研究,反映出柴德赓精深的治学特点。
Chai Dao in the Qing Dynasty academic history research outstanding contribution. Commenting on the history of three books by Qian Jia and Gao Ming, Wang Mingsheng, Qian Daxin, and Zhao Yi, both fully affirmed the achievements of their history books and their shortcomings, and emphasized the differences between the ways of scholarship and academic skills of Wang Mingsheng and Qian Daxin , Reflecting Chai Deji seeking truth from facts, broad academic style. Zhang Xuecheng unique discipline, Chai Taku made a profound summary of this, but also pointed out that the ideological limitations, this evaluation objective and comprehensive. Chai Taku also conducted in-depth study of other scholars in the Qing Dynasty, which reflected Chai Taku’s profound academic characteristics.
