Since the FTA of China and South Korea completed their substantive negotiations, the commercial, trade, investment and personnel exchanges between China and South Korea have been rapidly growing. This put forward higher requirements for the financial cooperation between the two countries and brought new opportunities for business growth to the banks in the ROK. At 9:00 a.m. on December 1, 2014, the direct exchange of Korean won between the ROK and the ROK on the RMB was officially launched in South Korea. This is a landmark event in the development of the offshore RMB market in South Korea. As a market maker, 12 banks, including South Korea’s Shinhan Bank and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, will make an offer in the inter-bank foreign exchange market
