This paper compares the semantic shifts between the Chinese “heart” and the “heart” of English, in order to explain the existence of human common psychological cognition behind the semantic shift phenomenon. From the case analysis of the “heart”, this law exists. The cognitive process of human beings is universal. In the different languages, there are common rules for semantic transfer patterns of words with the same referential meaning. Of course, there will be some differences among them. These differences are often caused by different cultural psychology.
