青州是古九州之一,有12年国都、1065年省会、1606年府衙、2216年县治的历史。自西汉初年,先后存在过6座古城,分别是汉代的广县城、广固城、东阳城、南阳城、东关圩子城以及满族旗城。广县城现在的青州市域,有史料记载最早的城池就是广县城。汉高祖四年(前203年),西汉开国功臣召欧被封为广县侯。广县侯共传五世,至召欧之孙召嘉,乃最后一代广县侯。该城位于青州府城西南1.5公里处瀑水涧的西侧。这是青州地区汉代设立的第一座
