《世说新语》是我国古代一部著名的笔记小说集,旧署南朝宋刘义庆撰。鲁迅认为此书是刘义庆招聚文学之士,编篡旧著而成。内容为记人叙事,始于秦末汉初,迄于南朝刘宋元嘉年间,举凡当时的高士言行,名流谈笑,集而录之。今本所见,尚一千一百余则,分“德行”、“言语”、“政事”、“文学”等三十六大门类编排。自问世以来,雅为士林所重。半个世纪后,南朝梁著名的文学家刘孝标为此书补注,可谓锦上添花。原因即其无可替代的史料价值,既为后人的学术研究提供素材,又为他们的学术观点提供依据。上世纪六十年代的一桩公案便肇自《世说新语》。事情还要从清末重臣端方说起。论其政绩,其说不一,世所公认者,此人乃我国近代一位收藏大家。 “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” is a well-known collection of notes and novels in ancient China.
