Objective: To evaluate the effect of inhaled nitric oxide (NO) on the lung function of dogs with smoke inhalation injury and to verify the mechanism of action. Methods: Twenty-one dogs were randomly divided into three groups: FiO 20.45 (n = 8) and FiO 20.45 + 0.0045% NO (n = Continuous monitoring of 12-hour blood gas changes; normal group (4) not injury, for the establishment of histological control. Analysis of variance between multiple samples in data rows. Results: The pulmonary oxygenation function of the treatment group was significantly improved (P <0.05) and the pulmonary ventilation function was also significantly improved (P <0.05). The cGMP of the arterial blood and lung tissue was significantly increased P <0.01). Conclusion: NO inhalation can significantly improve lung function, its mechanism of action is to increase the level of cGMP in smooth muscle cells. Recommended clinical application of inhaled NO as a comprehensive treatment of inhalation injury.
