上海是我国重要的工业城市。外滩是上海的一个窗口,它在黄浦江边集中了旧上海的大部分高楼大厦,这些建筑大部分建造于廿～卅年代集世界各国建筑之风貌,素有世界建筑博览之称号,建筑风格各异,但是在它们建造至今的几十年来从未进行过清洗,墙面乌黑一层,为了美化上海市容,市长办公会议决定对外滩沿街高层建筑进行清洗。在外滩市容整顿指挥部的领导下,组织了五支施工队伍,在二个多月的时间内对外滩的廿余幢大楼全部进行清洗整顿,总计清洗、装修、外墙面积达十二万余平方米,使这些大楼全部重新显示了原来的容颜,得到了全
