著作权上的“合理使用”(Fair Use)一词,是指在一定条件下不经著作权人的许可,也不必向其支付报酬而对作品所进行的使用。该词最早在19世纪初期为英美法官所创,其后逐步成为世界通行的版权限制制度之一。
The term “Fair Use” in copyright refers to the use of a work under certain conditions without the permission of the copyright owner and without payment of remuneration. The term was first created by British and American judges in the early 19th century and has since become one of the most widely adopted copyright restrictions in the world.
