在红套过盈联接的装配中,如果能在包容件和被包容件之间涂刷一层中间层,将大大增加联接强度,提高联接质量。在这方面,过去曾经使用过电镀层等多种方法来建立中间层。但都不理想。最近利用塑性及软性金属的粉末与甘油或其他粘结剂调合,作为中间层取得了较理想的效果。不仅可以使联接部分的承载能力加大,而且工艺还简单易行。上述装配方法,其联接强度之所以提高是因为经过加热的包容件在过盈联接时,对中间层施加了压力与温度的作用所致。薄薄的一层中间层充满于接触面上所有的低洼部分,从而使实际的接触面积大大增加了,过盈联接的粘结强度得到了进一步提高。在这里,中间层的物理机械性能及其厚度决定了联接强度提高
