为了配合三门峡水电站的兴建并且做为我国正规的第四纪地质研究的开始,中国科学院地质研究所在1954年夏天组织了我国历史上第一个以第四纪地质及地貌为主要调查对象的第四纪地质调查队。作者曾参加了这一工作。作者参加这一调查队的目的是:一方面学习和掌握第四纪地质及地质野外工作方法;另一方面则是搜集为完成自己的研究生毕业论文设计所需要的一切必要资料。工作地区是黄河中游在自三门峡起,西至陕县和平陆县沿
