约瑟夫·Ｃ·史德（ＪｏｓｅｐｈＣ.Ｓｈｉｅｌｄｓ）先生是美国一位薯名的卡通画艺术家，创作过大量以乔·卡通（ＪｏｅＣａｒｔｏｏｎ）为标志的卡通形象。１９９７年６月，史德注册了ｊｏｅｃａｒｔｏｏｎ.ｃｏｍ域名并设立网站。１９９９年１１月，域名“批发商”祖卡尼（Ｚｕｃｃａｒｉｎｉ）先生注册了与ｊｏｅｃａｒｔｏｏｎ.ｃｏｍ非常相似的五个域名，并在使用这些域名的网站中为其他网站域信用卡商做广告。由于祖卡尼注册的域名与史德先生的域名只有很小的差异，因此许多准备访问史德网站的人都错误地来到了这里。为此，史德于２０００年初向美国宾夕法尼亚州东区地方法院提起诉讼，指控祖卡尼违反了《反域名抢注消费者保护法》。
Joseph C. Schields, a potato cartoon artist in the United States, has created a large number of cartoon characters marked by Joe Cartoon. In June 1997, Stir registered the joecartoon.com domain name and set up a website. In November 1999, the domain name “wholesaler” Mr. Zuccarini registered five domain names that were very similar to joecartoon.com and advertised for other site domain credit card companies in those domain names. Due to the small differences between Zukani’s registered domain name and Mr. Stir’s domain name, many who are prepared to visit the SHR website came in by mistake. To this end, Sidley filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in early 2000, accusing Zucaik of violating the Anti-Domain-Named Consumer Protection Act.
