On behalf of the Chinese Numismatic Institute and director of the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Coinage, Yuan Mingxiang, the delegation of the Chinese Numismatic Institute was invited to attend the “Early Mining and Metallurgy” project hosted by the British Museum on September 10, 1995 in the UK. The International Coin Symposium conducted extensive international academic exchanges with over 100 experts and scholars from 17 countries and regions including Britain, Germany, France and Japan. It lasted 13 days and returned on schedule on September 23. At the meeting, the Chinese delegation demonstrated the achievements of studying the traditional production technology of brass materials in China.
