安·比蒂是“极简主义”流派的代表作家之一,其《〈纽约客〉故事集》在2014年由中国翻译推出,收录了其自创作以来的四十八篇重要的短篇小说。其小说的一大特色是集中展现了美国中产阶级的精神世界,表现了他们的孤独、焦虑,通过人物之间的交流障碍的事实,表现了对于人与人之间的复杂关系和人性的多重探索。而其冷静、客观地,通过故事主人公的自我讲诉体现了“叙述治疗”的方方面面,表现了作家对于突破人物之间紧张关系的殷切希望。
Ann Beatty is one of the representative writers of the “Minimalist” genre, whose “New Yorker Storybook” was launched in 2014 by Chinese translators and includes 48 important short stories since its creation. One of the major features of his novels is that he shows the spiritual world of the middle class in the United States in a concentrated manner, shows their loneliness, anxiety and the obstacle to communication through figures. It shows that there are many differences between the complex relationship and the human nature explore. And its calm, objective, through the story of the protagonist’s self-proclaimed embodiment of “narrative treatment ” all aspects of the performance of the writer for breaking the tension between people’s ardent hope.
