通过分析中小学名师霍懋征、魏书生、李镇西和王金战的成长足迹,从教师职业理念、专业知识、专业技能和专业认同四个方面建构教师专业素质结构。教师职业理念涉及爱生如子情怀、科学的育人观和开放的课程观;专业知识涉及教学性知识、背景性知识和实践性知识;专业技能涉及教育教学能力、良好的交往能力、较高的研究能力和及时反思能力;专业认同涉及良好的专业判断和严守专业规范。
