铀矿开采除具有一般金属矿山的有害因素外,还具有放射性,并且不断地从矿体中析放出氡和氡子体,危及人体健康。矽尘和放射性的综合作用会促使铀矿工人矽肺病的发生与发展;氡及其子体的辐射作用能使铀矿工人发生肺癌。关于氡致肺癌问题国外早已证实,国内也有教训。因此,做好铀矿山通风降氡工作是铀矿开采的重要安防措施之一。 二十多年来我国铀矿山通风降氡工作大致可分为三个阶段:
