在信息处理系统的大容量外部存储装置中,磁盘占有重要地位。尽管其存储容量从60年代到目前为止已经增加了两个数量级,但主要增加的是记录介质表面的记录密度。研究所首先制成了记录密度约为1200位/毫米~2(原文为120位/毫米~2,疑误——校者)的装置,但为了将来达到更高密度,需要对记录介质、磁头电磁转换技术、外部电路技术、磁头浮动机构和磁道定位等机械技术以及介质、磁头材料和加工技术等基本技术进行基础理论的研究,使之实现超过以前几倍的记录密度。本文首先论述了磁盘技术的一般动向和研究课题以及研究所目前的研究概况。
In information processing systems, large-capacity external storage devices, the disk occupies an important position.
