对当前大学英语课堂教学中存在的沉默现象,通过问卷调查、课堂观察、课后访谈以及多例个案分析的综合方法,对其原因进行了深入研究,发现正常的沉默是言语交流中停顿的需要,但非正常的沉默则是中国传统文化影响、教师的授课模式以及学生的个体差异等因素所致。教师不但要正确对待学生的沉默,还要分析学生选择沉默的原因,针对性地帮助他们打破沉默,最终构建有效的课堂教学模式。
Through the questionnaire, classroom observation, after-class interview and multi-case analysis, this article makes a deep research on the reasons for the existing silence phenomenon in college English classroom teaching and finds that the normal silence is the need of pause in verbal communication , But the abnormal silence is due to the influence of traditional Chinese culture, the teaching mode of teachers and the individual differences among students. Teachers should not only treat students’ silence correctly, but also analyze the reasons why students choose silence, help them to break the silence in a targeted way, and finally construct an effective classroom teaching mode.
