１９９１年１月２５日前后，伊拉克军队把大约４００万桶科威特原油泄放到波斯湾水域．逆时针运动的潮流顺着沙特阿拉伯海岸把溢油向东南方向推移．为了回收近海水域中的溢油，阿拉伯Ａｒａｍｃｏ石油公司租用了多用途油轮和基地设在Ｄｕｂａｉ的瓦西特号事故应急船承担回收任务。瓦西特号应急船在４２天内大约回收了１０万桶溢油，来发生任何故障．本文两作者均在该船上参加应急活动．本文概要介绍这次溢油应急行动的过程及其成果．
About 25 million barrels of Kuwaiti crude oil were discharged by the Iraqi army into the Persian Gulf waters around 25 January 1991. Counterclockwise movement along the coast of Saudi Arabia to the oil spill in the southeast direction. To recover oil spills in off-shore waters, Arab Aramco has rented multipurpose tankers and emergency work on the Vasit-based emergency vessel based in Dubai for recovery. The Wasit emergency vessel recovered about 100,000 barrels of oil spill in 42 days to cause any malfunction. Both authors in this article participate in emergency activities on board the ship. This article outlines the process and results of this oil spill response.
