回顾近代人类走向文明的历史,工程科技是推动人类进步强有力的发动机。在21世纪的前10年里,工程科技在人类社会发展中扮演的角色变得更为突出。自2000年国际工程科技大会在北京召开至今,已经过去14个年头。14年来,中国乃至世界的工程领域都发生了巨大变化,工程科技对推动经济发展、社会进步和提高人民生活水平都做出了重要贡献。如今,全球经济的持续发展又对工程科技提出了新要求。工程科技界希望藉此会议,研讨工程科技的创新与人类未来,为全球经济和社会的可持续发展 Recalling the history of modern human civilization, engineering science and technology is a powerful engine for promoting human progress. In the first decade of the 21st century, the role of engineering and technology in the development of human society has become more prominent. Since the International Engineering and Technology Conference in 2000 held in Beijing so far, 14 years have passed. In the past 14 years, tremendous changes have taken place in the engineering fields in China and the world. Engineering and science and technology have made important contributions to promoting economic development, social progress and raising the people's living standards. Today, the continuous development of the global economy has put forward new requirements on engineering and technology. The engineering and technology community hopes to take this conference to discuss the innovation of engineering technology and the future of mankind so as to promote the sustainable development of the global economy and society
