In mid-March, Changhong took the lead in the Sichuan-Chongqing market to kick off the price war again. It further expanded to the whole country in early April, resulting in a full-scale participation in the battle for colorful giants. The price cut of the whole machine made the upstream components industry, especially the color tube industry, worse than ever. The top eight color tube manufacturers in the country decided to suspend production for one month from June 28th. A wave of waves has risen again. On June 26th, Nanjing Panda, a veteran color TV company, launched a 29-inch special color TV at an unprecedented price of RMB 2,580, and Konka, Changhong, TCL, Hisense, and Xoceco launched a similar 29-inch color TV.
