本文对段宝林同志在民间文学、民俗学研究中取得的主要成果作了全面深入的概括、分析和评价 ,认为段的民间文学研究的主要成果——《中国民间文学概要》有出版早、学术信息量大等七大特色 ;段对笑话学的研究所取得的“正面喜剧人物”这一成果是开创性的 ;段对民间诗律的研究 ,其成果——《民间诗律》、《中外民间诗律》、《古今民间诗律》则是这一领域研究的奠基之作。而段氏对民俗学研究的突出贡献是发现了“六维立体思维”、“民俗趋美律”;段氏学术研究的两大闪光点之一的《民俗大典编写提纲》,既总结了中国学者们的学术成果与经验 ,又继承了中国“描写民俗学”的优良传统 ,有发展 ,有新意等
