Williams et al. Reported a rare case of acquired aldosterone reduction due to the absence of the individual globular bands. The authors recently reported a 14-year-old patient with hyperkalemia, hyponatremia and increased plasma renin activity at 7 years after diagnosis of hypoparathyroidism. At the same time, the patient’s growth rate is less than 1cm per year. The normal plasma cortisone, deoxycorticosterone and corticosterone responses as well as the normal urinary response of 18-hydroxydcortisone and tetrahydrocortisone under ACTH stimulation were shown in the analysis of the patient’s zona fasciculus and bulbous zone.
