随着英语的全球化传播与发展,英语作为通用语(ELF)现象受到国内外学者的广泛关注,成为各国语言政策及语言教育改革研究争论的热点。本文在梳理该领域研究基础上,剖析目前英语通用语研究在理论建构前提、目标定位以及教学应用方面存在的问题,指出直接运用现有ELF研究成果指导我国英语教学还为时过早。针对目前ELF研究存在的问题,文章从ELF现象本质、ELF的复杂性和动态性以及ELF的研究维度三个方面为ELF后续研究给出详细建议,以期对目前的ELF研究作出积极的贡献。
With the spread and development of English, the phenomenon of English as a common language (ELF) has drawn wide attention from scholars both at home and abroad and has become a hot topic in the debate on language policy and language education reform in various countries. Based on the research of this field, this paper analyzes the current problems in the construction of English general terms in terms of theoretical construction, target orientation and teaching application. It is too early to point out the direct use of existing ELF research results to guide our English teaching. In view of the existing problems in ELF research, the article gives detailed suggestions for ELF follow-up research from the aspects of the essence of ELF, the complexity and dynamics of ELF and the research dimension of ELF, in order to make a positive contribution to the current ELF research.
