从已知文献来看,自秦汉以来三分损益十二律有两种生律次序。一是“蕤宾重上法”;二是“蕤宾下生法”。《史记.律书》中的“律数”、《淮南子.天文训》、《后汉书.律历志》记载的三分损益十二律,为“蕤宾重上法”;《史记.律书》中的“生钟分”、《汉书.律历志》及《晋书.律志》记载的三分损益十二律,为“蕤宾下生法”。历史上曾有对这两种生律次序的争议,其中所道出的信息表明:两种生律次序在产生争议的时代均有各自的认同者。此外,“蕤宾重上法”属于大阴阳观念下的十二律相生次序,与十二气说相应对;而“蕤宾下生法”属于小阴阳观念下的十二律相生次序,与十二气说不相通融。本文根据秦《放马滩简》及汉、唐经学注疏,拟重点考查“蕤宾重上法”在秦、汉、唐之间的源流,而“蕤宾下生法”的源流将另作专论考证。
